| Objective To investigate the imaging characteristic of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal diseases.For improving diagnosis and differentiated diagnosis on the relative lesions.Methods Image findings of 79 cases of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal diseases proved pathology were analyzed and compared in details.Results 1.In 35 eases of oropharyngeal lesions,which included 16 cases of carcinoma,14 cases of lymphoma,2 cases of tonsillitis,2 cases of hemangioma and 1 case of neurilemmoma.Boundary(p=0.026),density and(or) signal(p=0.027) of comparing with oropharyngeal carcinoma and lymphoma were significant difference.In all cases,13 parts of oropharynx and surrounding tissue were infiltration which proved meaningless(p>0.05).Carcinoma and lymphoma's cervical metastasis were very common,above 50%rate,also no significant difference(p= 0.284).2.44 cases of hypopharyngx were consisted of 22 cases of carcinoma,19 cases of infiltrated laryngeal carcinoma,and each one case of the granulation tissue hyperblastosis,synovial sarcoma,Wegener's granulomatosis.There were differences(p<0.05) between hypopharyngeal and laryngeal carcinoma on the infiltration of vestibular cords,vocal cords and anterior commissure.And there was meaningless(p>0.05) on the infiltration of piriform recess of the cases.No signification of invading the space of neck on the mass lesions of hypopharynx(p>0.05). The metastasis of jugular vein chains' lymph node was significative (p=0.02).Conclusions 1.Most of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal diseases could be diagnosed correctly with the imaging characteristic and clinic.2.CT and MRI are superior to display the region,appearance,range, surrounding tissue infiltration and lymphatic metastasis of the oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal lesion.CT and MRI play an important role in the diagnosis of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal disease. |
