Clinical Application Of Quick Indirect Bonding System

BackgroundThe bonding of orthodontic brackets is the foundation for orthodontic doctors to operate.It's so-called indirect bonding means to bond orthodontic brackets to working model first,then transfer these bonded brackets from the working model to the teeth, using some sort of transfer trays.In this paper,the bonding system is rapid indirect bonding system,proposed by Sondhi A,using double transfer tray.The outer hard transfer tray is made of proofing cream,and inner soft tray is made of silicone.Outer tray has enough hardness,so as to ensure no deformation when brackets are transferred from working model to the teeth surface.While the inner tray must be flexible,it is easy for brackets removed from transfer tray after bonding.ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical bonding effect of quick indirect bonding system.To compare the clinical adhesive bonding effect of direct and indirect bonding system.To observe the accuracy of double-shift transfer tray,transfer the brackets from working model to patients' teeth.Methodschoose twenty-one patients,with malocclusions.Twelve patients use rapid direct bonding system to bond the brackets,with double transfer tray.Nine patients use traditional direct bonding to bond the brackets.To statistic the bonding accuracy and the instant failures of rapid indirect bonding system.Compare nine of the patients using indirect bonding system to nine patients using traditional direct bonding.Observe the 3 months' failures and specific circumstances of direct and indirect bonding.Results1.we successfully use the double transfer tray for indirect bonding,which the outer hard transfer tray is made of proofing cream,and inner soft tray is made of silicone.The new transfer tray is instead of which Sondhi A suggest,making from Bioplast layer for inner tray and biocryl layer for outer tray.2.Compare the direct bonding to indirect bonding.Indirect bonding group:the number of indirect bonding bracket is one hundred and fifteen,sixty-nine maxillas and forty-six mandibles.Eleven brackets felled off after three months,and the percentage of brackets is 9.57%.Direct bonding group:the number of direct bonding bracket is one hundred and thirty-five,sixty-five maxillas and eighty mandibles.Four brackets felled off after three months,and the percentage of brackets is 2.96%.There is no significance between direct and indirect bonding system of he brackets' failure after three months.3.Twelve patients have used rapid indirect bonding system to bond one hundred and sixty brackets,eighty-seven maxillas and seventy-three mandibles.Twelve brackets were failed to bond instantly(six maxillas six mandibles,2 interior 10 posterior).There is statistical significance between anterior and posterior brackets instant failure(P＜0.05), and there is no statistical significance between maxillas and mandibles.The transfer tray is simple and effective.There is no significance difference of brackets' location between before and after bonding,except upper left 1.Conclusionthe quick indirect bonding system has advantages to bond the brackets perfectly and precisely.It is no significant difference in bond strength between direct and indirect bonding system.It's conducive to improve the accuracy of bracket cementation.The double transfer tray can displace the brackets,from working model to patient teeth, precisely.
