Objective: Evaluate the relation between ocular fundus changes in pregnancy-induced hypertension patients with clinical indicators, in order to clarify the diagnostic seriousness of pregnancy-induced hypertension condition and estimate the significance of maternal prognosis from the retinopathy.Materials and methods: Observe 262 cases of ocular fundus changes in pregnancy-induced hypertension patients, measurement of blood pressure, hematocrit, urine protein, and such as clinical laboratory indicators, statistics of patients with age, parity, disease duration, maternal complications and prenatal outcome. Results: There are high relations between retinopathy with disease duration, mean arterial pressure, hematocrit, and urine protein. There are no relation between retinopathy with uric acid. There are increasing complications probability, such as maternal placental abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal dysplasia and prenatal mortality. There is no significant difference between pure pregnancy-induced hypertension and pregnancy-induced hypertension with gestational diabetes mellitus in retinopathy incidence. Conclusions: The retinal artery spasm level can reflect the vasospasm degree of systemic vessels. Ophthalmoscope is a simple common method in clinical examination to know about retinal blood vessels. There is obvious clinical significance between ocular fundus changes and the severity level in pregnancy-induced hypertension disorders, also there is importance between ocular fundus changes with the treatment of the birth process in pregnancy and estimated maternal. Therefore, the clinical ocular fundus examination should be as the one of focus guardianship in pregnancy-induced hypertension patients.
