With the development of medical science, medical model and disease menu have changed and the aging of the population also speeded up this process. It's our mission to find a kind of working mode, which can improve the health care quality and efficiency, reduce expenditure and cost, This working mode could serve as the more reasonable and effective one health resources, as well as perform a better social function of the hospital and improve the cost-effective mode.Clinical Nursing Pathway (CNP) is a standardization of nursing, as a standard, planned, predictable nursing work which allow patients to participate in the whole process of nursing, also can be called an active care and participation nursing model. As an advanced quality and economic returns, which provide high-quality, high efficiency and low-cost medical services, clinical pathway can shorten the average duration of stay, reduce the average cost of hospitalization, saving health resources, implement the overall care and improve health care quality.Coronary heart disease (CHD) are major non-communicable diseases. Percutaneous coronary angioplasty (PTCA) plus intracoronary stenting is one of the most effective ways to treat the coronary heart disease. This treatment has many advantages such as minimally invasion, relative safety, significant efficacy, quick recovery, and now it has become an important means for the treatment of coronary heart disease. The quality of nursing has a direct impact on the success of the intervention and prognosis, is the key factor to reduce complications. This study involved coronary heart disease patients who participate in the clinical care path mode. We observed hospitalization duration of patients, hospital fees, complications, the negative effects, as well as the evaluation of the quality and satisfaction of nursing in the control patients, get the assessment of nursing. Finally, find a basis and method to enhance the quality of medical care. This study collected 80 patients with coronary heart disease from November 2007 to May 2008 who was treated in the second Hospital of Jilin University. 80 patients were randomised into clinical pathway group (experimental group,n=40) and conventional care group (control group,n=40). The patients in the experimental group received systemic nursing interventional according the clinical nursing pathways on the basis of routine nursing, and the control group received only routine nursing. There is no significant difference in gender, age, education level,(P>0.05), also there is no significant difference in the number of coronary thrombosis and embolism aspects of the site. Arrhythmia in the experimental group were significantly lower than control group(P<0.05), the incidence of cardiogenic shock and heart failure has declined, but no statistical significance. The incidence of vagus nerve reflex, low blood pressure, constipation, back pain and sleep difficulties in experimental group were significantly lower than control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). The incidence of hematoma and abdominal distension was lower than the control group, but no statistical significance. The experimental group has a higher satisfaction. Clinical nursing pathway can shorten the average duration of hospitalization, speed up bed turnover and improve the utilization rate of bed; also it can reduce the average cost of hospital and improve the quality of nursing significantly. The results suggested that the implement of clinical nursing pathway has several advantages: First of all, It has shortened the average duration of hospitalization, speeded up bed turnover and improved the utilization rate of bed; also it could reduce the average cost and improve the nursing quality significantly. Secondly, after realizing the importance of standardization and procedures of the health care activities, nurses could work with the initiative and self-consciousness, which could improve the efficiency and quality. Thirdly, we could select the best clinical model to provide patients with quality, continuous, multi-disciplinary collaboration of health care services, which will help us to enhance the popularity and the market competitiveness of hospital. Fourthly, it would help us to improve the management of patients with self-awareness; promote the communication, increase confidence and satisfaction and enhance the quality of medical care, emphasis on process management.Clinical Nursing Pathway (CNP), as an advanced quality and economic returns, could provide high-quality, high efficiency and low-cost medical services. To assess the implementation of CNP in patients with coronary heart disease, it's necessary to find a reference guide for the clinical pathway in the departments and the implementation of the hospital.
