Objective To observe the effect of the thickness of dermis and the expression of collagen typeⅠ,collagen typeⅢ, transforming growth factor -β1 in mouse scleroderma model after they were used the ethanol and the ethyl acetate extracts of Capparis spinosa L.Methods Mouse scleroderma model were established through local injection bleomycin four weeks, the ethanol and the ethyl acetate extracts of Capparis spinosa were applied to treat the model after the mouse models were made successfully.Observing the expression of collagen typeⅠ,collagen typeⅢand transforming growth factor-β1 through the skin pathology and immunohistochemical test after 2 weekends,4 weekends ,6 weekends. Results Compared with the BLM treated mice, The thickness of dermis(F=12.992,P<0.05),the expression of collagen typeⅠ(F=7.470,P<0.05)and transforming growth factor -β1(F=11.760 P<0.05) of the mouse scleroderma model can be inhibited by both the ethanol and the the ethyl acetate extracts of Capparis spinosa, collagen typeⅢwere not inhibited obviously. after 2 weekends,4 weekends ,6 weekends. Conclusions The efficacy of two Capparis spinosa extracts in the treatment of scleroderma mouse model is obtained by the decreased production of collagen typeⅠand transforming growth factor -β1. The efficacy was not affected by the mouse sex.
