[Objective] to observe the clinical effects of treating radiculopathic cervical type spondylosis with the "Drawing Qi back to the origin" formula in conjunction with the "neck zone row needling approach" from Bo's Abdominal Acupuncture Method.[Method] 48 cases of radiculopathic type Cervical Spondylosis were randomly selected. All subjects were treated with a new neck zone "row needling" approach with Bo's "Drawing Qi back to the origin" abdominal acupuncture method. Treatments were administered once a day for 3 weeks. Observations including number of sessions required achieving total recovery, effectiveness of symptomatic relief and untoward side effects were made and recorded. The McGill Pain Questionnaire was used as a tool for pain measurement.[Result] twenty eight cases got clinical recovery among 48 cases. The total efficiency rate is 5.88%, while the treatment times to get curing concentrated around the 12th and 13th. The assessment of McGill showed an obvious difference between before and after treatments by the scores of PRI, VAS and PPI (P<0.01-0.05). There are not any special uncomfortable recording during the observation period. [Conclusion] Bo's "Drawing Qi back to the origin" abdominal acupuncture method with neck zone "row needling" approach can reduce the pain caused by radiculopathic cervical type spondylosis and promote the clinical recovery.
