The Effect Of Radiotherapy On The Gene Expressions Of E-cadherin And MMP-9

Objective To explore the effects of X-ray irradiation on the gene expression of E-cadherin and MMP-9.Method Solid-tumor-bearing mice were produced with Lewis lung cell (LLC) and were randomly divided into the radiation group(n=18)and the control group(n=17). The mice in the radiation group were irradiated by 15Gy X-ray. The expressions of E-cadherin and MMP-9 were detected by immuno-histochemical methods after 24 hours.Result The expressions of E-cadherin in the radiation group were highter than those in the control group(t=20.68,P<0.001).The expressions of MMP-9 in the radiation group were lower than those in the control group (t=9.53, P<0.001).Conclusion X-ray irradiation may increase E-cadherin expression and inhibit MMP-9 expression, to prohibit the invasion and metastasis of tumor cells.
