Objective:To detect the concentration of Interleukin-18 and C-reactive protein in patients with coronary heart disease before and after intracoronary stents implantation; and to investigate the roles of Interleukin-18 and C-reactive protein in complications after intracoronary stent implantation. Methods:Thirty hospitalized patients with coronary heart disease and intracoronary stent implantation were enrolled as study group, and 5ml blood were collected from peripheral vein before and after intracoronary stent implantation in every patient.Interleukin-18 was measured with ELISA methods and C-reactive protein was measured with automatic biochemistry analyse instrument.Data were processed by statistical methods which conclude student T test.Results:(1) The concentration of IL-18 were significantly elevated after intracoronary stent implantation(2.635±0.543ng/L versus 1.422±0.474ng/L),(P<0.01);(2) The concentration of C-reactive protein were significantly elevated too after intracoronary stent implantation(5.26±1.28mg/L versus 11.86±1.61mg/L),(P<0.01).Conclusion:The concentrations of Interleukin-18 and C-reactive protein in patients with coronary heart disease were significantly elevated after intracoronary stents implantation.Adjustment of the level of Interleukin-18 and C-reactive protein may be a effective method to prevent complications post intracoronary stents implantation.
