Objective:To observe the surgical results and affecting factors of vertebral lamina fenestration suguical decompression in the treatment of lumbar canal stenosis. Methods:The All 65 patients of lumbar canal stenosis been treated with vertebral lamina fenestration surguical decompression from January,2005 to December,2007 at Shandong Provincal TCM Hospital. The surgical results after operation been studied acording to the accessment of JOA for 1~18 months. Results: No patient developed any severe complication. After being followed up for an average period of 1.3.9.18 months, the results proved to be satisfied. The average improvement rate was 86.0% 86.1% 86.0%.86.5%.There is no statistic difference among thesediferrent period of improvement rates (P>0.05). Conclusion: The modus operandi proved to be a satisfied way of treating degenerative lumbar stenosis with thoroughly decompression of main and lateral canal, less destructive effect to the posterior part of lumbar spine and thus maintain the stability of spine.
