AIM:To analyze the factors that affect the mental health of military medical staff and to study their mental health status in order to provide evidence for the building of an effective military mental health system.METHOD:Using SCL-90 to test 480 in-service medical staff anonymously on the spot in a large military hospital in Xi'an, and then summarize the test results into 9 factor indexes: somatization (SOM); obsessive-compulsiveness (O-C); interpersonal sensitivity (I-S); depression (DEP); anxiety (ANX); hostility (HOS); phobic anxiety (PHOB); paranoid ideation (PAR); and psychoticism (PSY). Giving a quantitative description of each factor, it's exceptional if the qualitative result of each factor's evaluation numerical value is greater than or equal to 2. According to sex, occupation, the title of a technical post, academic career, marriage and some other factors to divide different groups of people and calculate the percentage of exceptional groups of people among different groups of people. To discuss the impact of different factors on frontline medical staff's mental health status by comparing with common people's conventional norm. Filling out the general table at the same time and using simple questionaires to discuss the percentage of different groups of people's sleep disorder and the percentage of people who are lack of sleep. Typing the data into a professional SCL-90 analyzing software and adopting SPSS10.0 to make a statistical analysis.RESULT:The response rate is 88.9%, mental health problems were found among 19.17% of the military medical staff, in which problems of compulsiveness (12.5%), depression (12.29%) and hostility (11.04%) are more common. 30% of the staff has sleep disorder problems. The percentage of female staff who has mental health problems is greater than the whole group of people. Mental health status of the nursing staff, and people in junior title and having academic certificates at the junior college level is the worst. The total score of SCL-90 of the medical staff is 134.13q±38.17, compared with the country's conventional norm, it has a clear difference.(P<0.05)CONCLUSION:The mental health status of the military medical staff is not that favorable, they undertake more pressure compared with common people, therefore, the related sections and the whole society should pay more attention to and understand it more.
