Objective:To study the feasibility and effetiveness of "Water-Cooled circulation" microwave coagulation(MC)in the treatment of breast tumor.Methods:Six pigs breasts underwent coagulation under percutaneous microwave coagulation with "water-cooled" microwave coagulation equipment-ECO100 type.After MC procedure,the volume of target area was calculated;routine pathological examination was done in MC lesion and surrounding tissue.Adverse effects on surrounding breast tissue and skin were carefully detected during and after MC ablation.Results:Using the "water-cooled" electrode produced a necrosis volume of 0.75cm×0.75cm×1.03cm at 25W for 2 minutes,1.20cm×1.20cm×1.40cm at 25W for 3 minutes,1.13cm×1.13cm×1.48cm at 30W for 2 minutes,1.40cm×1.40cm×1.73cm at 30W for 3 minutes,1.25cm×1.25cm×1.60cm at 35W for 2 minutes,1.60cm×1.60cm×1.88cm at 35W for 3 minutes,1.55cm×1.55cm×1.70cm at 40W for 2 minutes,2.03cm×2.03cm×2.35cm at 40W for 3 minutes.Coagulation volume was postive correlatived with MC power and time,the correlation coefficient of MC volume and cross product of MC power with time is 0.904,regression equation is yhat=0.117x-2.608.Target breast cells show coagulativenecrosis changes by HE staining after MC,no clearly change was detected in Surrounding tissue by HE staining.There was no any evidence of skin burn and adjacent tissue damage outside targeted tissue in the treated of breast by using "water-cooled circulation".Conclusions:"Water-Cooled circulation" microwave coagulation make breast cell coagulative-necrosis.Coagulation circumscription is clear.The therapy is microinvasive.No serious adverse effect was founded.The experiment provides a basis for clinical application of microwave. |
