| Objective:To explore the risk factors of low birth weight and observe the effect of early intervention on low birth weight. To find effective methods which are fit for the local economic and social situation to reduce the incidence of low birth weight and lighten the harm of low birth weight.Methods:The research aimed on the mothers and low birth weight infants in the Fujian Provincial Maternity and Children Health Hospital. To explore the risk factors of low birth weight, case-control study was used and questionnaire survey was done on 453 mothers whose newborn's weight is lower than 2500 g and 443 mothers whose newborn's weight is more than 2500 g. Part of the medical records was extracted. And 120 low birth weight infants were divided randomly into test group and control group. The control group received only normal treatments, and test group added the intervention including touch, visual and aural stimulation. Then observe the effect of the intervention. SPSS 11.5 software was used in the research. Descriptive statistics, simple analysis, logistic regression models and t-test method were used in the research.Conclusions:1. Low birth weigh newborns'Apgar score was lower than normal birth weight infants. Their incidence of birth defect and complication was higher than normal birth weight infants.2. Simple analysis showed that pregnancy week, abnormal pregnancy history, pregnancy age, multiple pregnancy, social and economic situation, mental factors, antenatal care, health education, smoke, drink were the factors affection the rate of low birth weight.3. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the factors including healthcare times, the time before TV set, first healthcare week, multiple pregnancy, abnormal pregnancy history, pregnancy week were the independent factors of low birth weigh.4. Early intervention can improve the growth of the low birth weight infants. The early intervention on low birth weight infants should be advocated to reduce the harm of low birth weight. |
