Objective:To investigate the influence of low molecular chitooligosaccharides and its compound in diabetic rats.Methods:Diabetic model was induced by injecting with streptozotocin(STZ)and the rats were treated with high fat and sugar diet for four weeks.Rats were randomly divided into nine groups:normal group,model group,positive control group and different chitooligosaccharides treatment group.Blood sample was taken out from rats at the end of the experiments after 24 hours' fasting for determination of the blood glucose,fructosamine,blood lipid.Fresh liver was taken out for determination of the glycogen,SOD, MDA.Results:Compared with the normal group,the blood glucose,fructosamine of model group were obviously different(P<0.01).The above mentioned index was improved(P<0.05~0.01)at the end of the experiments.And the effect was determined by dosage and molecular weight.Conclusions:The best molecular weight of chitooligosaccharides was 1700,and the dosage was 140mg/kg.d in this diabetic model.
