| Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between serum leptin,NO,plasma ET and EF in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM)and heart failure.Methods:33 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure(DCM group)and 40 healthy persons(as a control group)were enrolled study.Serum leptin and plasma ET was measured by the radioimmunoassay method,serum NO was measured by colorimetry method,left ventricular ejection fraction(EF)was measured by echocardiography.Serum leptim,NO,plasma ET and EF were measured again in the patients with DCM and heart failure at 2 weeks after receving regular therapy.Result:(1).The levels of serum leptin,NO and plasma ET in DCM group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.001).(2).The levels of serum leptin,NO,and plasma ET in patients with NYHA gradeⅢand NYHA gradeⅣwere higher than that in these with NYHA gradeⅡ(P<0.01).The levels of serum leptin,NO,and plasma ET were correlated negatively with EF in the patients,r=-0.590 (P<0.001),r=-0.378(P=0.03),r=-0.647(P<0.001).In stepwise regression analysis leptin(X3)and ET(X5)were independently correlated with EF(Equation:Y=47.328-1.02X3-0.101X5,P<0.05).(3).The level of serum leptin was correlated positively with the level of plasma ET in the patients,r=0.480(P=0.005).(4).The EF was increased and the levels of serum leptin,NO,and plasma ET were decreased compared with those before therapy(P<0.001).Conclution:1.The levels of serum leptin,NO and plasma ET were increased in patients with DCM and heart failure.2.The levels of serum leptin,NO and plasma ET were correlated negatively with EF in patients with DCM and heart failure,furthermore,leptin and ET were correlated independently with EF.3.The level of serum leptin was correlated positively with the level of plasma ET in patients with DCM and heart failure.Maybe there was a positive interaction between leptin and ET in the patients.4.At 2 weeks after therapy,EF was increased and the level of serum leptin,NO and plasma ET were decreased,maybe they could use for observing curative effect in heart failure therapy. |
