Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate the pathological lesion and functional change on the carotid wall of hypertension patient by the quantitative approach of High-resolution Color Doppler Flow Imaging analysis .To evaluate the blood vessel pathological change extent from morphology and function index, and explore the technique of blood vessel early pathological change which is good for standard use..Subjects and methods Four hundred and thirty visit observation object, (209 males,221 females , age range 36-79 years, average 55.3 year) and 121 healthy controls. The study requests primary hypertension and exclude the following situations :1.severe liver .kidney .pancreas illness; 2.chornic consuming illness and malignant tumor; 3. frequently-happen dystopia arrhythmia; 4.hypertension caused by other primary illness; 5 the one who cannot cooperate with the action. All the observation objects first are detected blood pressure ,then are sweeped common carotid by using 10MHz linear array ultrasonic transducer probe ,measured IMT of common carotid artery, Ds, Dd, and the artery minor axis shortening rate ,artery wall calcium hardness index (β—stiffness ) ,there are 49 examples detected carotid-femoral artery pulse wave velocity (pwv). By the way, blood flow dynamic parameters such as Vmax peak value, Vmin peak value ,AT,DT,S/D, and other observation objects ,clinic information including body height ,body weight ,heart rate, blood creatinine, urine acid, blood cholesterol ,blood high density protein, blood TG, urine Na and so on also are recorded and analysis.Results Among all the subjects underwent High—resolution Color Doppler Flow Imaging analysis ,artery wall calcium hardness index:β—stiffness has intimate direct proportion with the common carotid intima-media, and is then direct ratio correlated with carotid-femoral artery pulse wave velocity (pwv).This indicates that as IMT thickens, artery wall calcium hardness indexβ—stiffness steps up; artery wall calcium hardness indexβ—stiffness is intimately linear correlated to systolic pressure and pulse pressure ,but has negativity correlation with diastolic blood pressure, which indicates that when artery systolic pressure heightens, artery wall calcium hardness indexβ—stiffness advances. Longer hypertension lasts, more obvious the tendency is.Conclusions In this study ,the group of hypertension is compared with controls group .It has statistics significance that IMT,PWV,β—stiffness steps up, % Shortening degrades in hypertension group .From this, it can be seen that ultrasonic recall ratio of arteriosclerosis plaque in early hypertension patient is very low. and the detect of artery dilatancy function is of important meaning to nonage diagnosis of artery sclerosis. IMT,β—stiffness, PWV, % Shortening act as the index which mainly reflect artery sclerosis .They can evaluate artery sclerosis overall when incorporate with patient all kinds of clinic data means. Ultrasonic is of characteristics reflecting artery sclerosis such as direct-viewing, accurate; real-time, and is of widely using outlook.
