Objective To investigate the effect of proliferation of human retinal pigment epithelium (hRPE) in vitro stimulated by stromal cell-derived factor-1α.Methods 1.Use MTT to investigate the proliferation of human retinal pigment epithelium (hRPE) in vitro by the cytokine SDF-1α. 2.Cytochemical staining methods to detect the expression of PCNA in hRPE with SDF-1αor not.Result MTT method indicate that SDF -1αcan stimulate the proliferation of human retinal pigment epithelium (hRPE) in vitro(P<0.05). cytochemistry under the electric mirror observed that: there are no or low expression of PCNA before adding SDF-1α,but the expression is more higher after adding SDF-1α.Conclussion Cytokine SDF-1αcan simulate the proliferation of human retinal pigment epithelium (hRPE) cultured in vitro.
