Objective:To investigate the expression of WWOX,P53 and Bcl-2 protein in epithelial ovarian tumor and its clinicopathologic significance.Methods:The expression of WWOX,P53,Bcl-2 in 58 cases of ovarian carcinoma,20 cases of borderline tumor,17 cases of benign tumor tissues , and 10 cases of normal ovarian tissues were studied by immunohistochemistry methods and their clinicopathologic significance were analyzed.Results:1. The expression of WWOX in ovarian carcinomaThe positive rate of WWOX in ovarian carcinoma( 72.41 % ,42/58) and borderline tumor (50% 10/20) was higher than in benign tumor tissues (5.89%,1/17) and normal ovarian tissues (0%,)(p<0.05), The level of expression of WWOX in stageIII-IV ovarian carcinoma was higher than in stage I-II ovarian carcinoma (p<0.05).positive immunostaining for WWOX were observed more higher in patients with lymphnode metastasis (p<0.05). The positive rate of wwox protein in ovarian carcinoma had relation with pathologic grades but had no relation with the histological types(P>0.05).2. The expression of P53 protein in ovarian carcinomaThe positive rate of P53 in ovarian carcinoma(56.90%,33/58) and borderline tumor(35.00%,3/20) was higher than in benign tumor tissues (5.89%,1/17) and normal ovarian tissues (0%,)(p<0.05), The level of expression of P53 in stageIII-IV ovarian carcinoma was higher than in stage I-II ovarian carcinoma (p<0.05).positive immunostaining for P53 were observed more higher in patients with lymphnode metastasis (p<0.05)The positive rate of P53 protein in ovarian carcinoma had relation with pathologic grades but had no relation with the histological types(P>0.05).3. The expression of Bcl-2 protein in ovarian carcinomaThe positive rate of Bcl-2 protein in ovarian carcinoma( 60.34.%,35/58) and borderline tumor(50.00%,10/20) was higher than in benign (11.76,2/17)and normal ovarian tissues (10%, 1/10),respectivelly(p<0.05), The positive rate of Bcl-2 protein in ovarian carcinoma had relation with pathologic grades but had no relation with the clinical stage and lymphnode metastasis(P>0.05).4.Correlation between WWOX and Bcl-2 , WWOX and P53 expression.Positive expression of WWOX was significantly correlated to the Positive of P53 and Bcl-2 expression ,respectivelly(p<0.05).Conclusions:1. WWOX,P53 protein was overexpressed in ovarian carcinoma , the expression was associated with clinical stages,lymphnode metastasis and pathologic grades. p<0.05Both of them promot pathogenesis of ovarian carcinoma2. . Bcl-2 protien was overexpressed in ovarian carcinoma ,the expression was associated with pathologic grades p<0.05 and had no relation with the clinical stages,differented clinical type and lymphnode metastasis. P>0.05 Bcl-2 protein had relation with WWOX p<0.05.Both of them promot growth of ovarian carcinoma3. WWOX,Bcl-2 and P53 protein may be a significant prognostic parameter in ovarian carcinoma.The results may be a new therapeutic strategy for ovarian carcinoma.
