| Objective:To investigate the significance of the measurement of thyroglobulin (TG) and thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb) in differential diagnosis between nodular goiter and Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma (DTC), we retrospectively measure the level of serum TG and TGAb preoperative, thus increasing diagnosis in preoperative and reducing the operability of the nodular goiter.Methods:180 patients with thyroid carcinoma (group A:Males:45,mean age was 47 years old;Females,135, mean age was 43 years old) and 150 patients with nodular goiter(group B:Males:55,mean age was 43 years old;Females:95,mean age was 41 years old)were selected to be measured, all the patients were selected from the general surgery of the first affiliated hospital of Dalian Medical University, Healthy control group concluded 120 people(group C,Males:40,mean age was 38 years old;Females:80,mean age was 44 years old).All of objects were received thyroids sonogramph and were detected serum thyroid function, the thyroid were inspected with CT except healthy control group, Comparing the difference of the thyroid function of every group patients.Results:(1)The level of T3 and T4 were normal in three group, they were not statistics difference (p>0.05).(2)The number of the positive TPOAb(thyroid peroxidase antibody,TPOAb) was 12(6.67%) in group A, it was 9(6.00%) in group B, it was 10(8.33 %)in group C. They were not statistics difference (p>0.05). (3)The positive rate of TG and TGAb was 40% and 43.3% in group A, it was higher to the nodular goiter group (group B: 7.33%, 9.33%)and the healthy control group(group C,4.17%,7.50%) obviously. The level of thyroglobulin(TG) and thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb) of the group A was statistics difference obviously to the level of the group B and group C (p<0.05), but it was not statistics difference between group B and group C (p>0.05).Conclusion: The measurement of TG and TGAb has clinical significance in differential diagnosis between DTC and nodular goiter. |
