Object To explore a simple and convenient method of small intestine double contrast examination—Small intestine double contrast with air- barium by non-tube fast. To assess the value of new method and compare it with traditional method by taking orally moreover, contrast Cisapride with Metoclopramide in new method. Methods Take orally enteric-dissolved capsule full of aerogenic powder, which release carbon dioxide (CO2). Meanwhile take orally barium and Cisapride . One hundred patients were randomly divided into study group and control group, 63 patients of study group apply new methods, and 33 patients of control group apply both taking orally barium and inject metoclopramide. Results In study group , satisfactory, ordinary and no effect was produced in 53, 12 and 2 cases, and a patient cann't examine because of swallowing difficulty. Efficiently is 97.02% and average time is 34.63±16.66 minute. The control group is ordinary effect and the is 77.12±32.98 minute. Two methods are of remarkable difference in effect and time in statistics(P<0.01). Conclusion Small intestine air-barium double contrast examination can have a more satisfactory effect than traditional method; Cisapride is better and safe than metoclopramide.
