Objective: To search for chemical constituents and content of tannin of pomegranate peel. Methods: Compounds were extracted by back streaming method, isolated by means of column chromatography over normal phase silica gel and Sephadex LH-20, recrystallization, structures were identified by spectroscopic method including 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and chemical method. Determined content of tannin by Casein. Results: We have isolated thirteen compounds, ten of them were determined as gallic acid(I), methyl gallate(II), ellagic acid(III), (+)-catechin(IV), isoquerecitrin(V), D-mannitol(VI), ursolic acid(VII), oleanolic acid(VIII),β-Sitosterol(IX ) andβ-sitosterol-3-O-glucoside(X). Contents of tannin in pomegranate peel of Cele, Pishan, Shufu, Yecheng and Shule were 17.53%,17.99%,20.44%,21.66% and 23.14%, respectively. Conclusions: Ten compounds were isolated from the pomegranate fruit peel planted Xinjiang province for the first time. The average recovery was 97.4% and RSD was 1.2%, respectively. The average tannin of pomegranate peel was 20.15%. This method is sample, practical, accurate and suitable for the determination. |
