Objective To analyze the feature of carotid arteriosclerosis plaques using MSCTA, to evaluate the relationship between cerebral stroke and carotid arteriosclerosis plaques. Methods 3D-CTA and head scan was perfomed in 342 patients who suspected diseases of carotid arteries or cerebral infarction. The raw dates were transferred to ADW4. 2work-station.CT angiography were obtained with mult-projection reconstruction(MPR), maximum intensity projection(MIP),curve planar reformation(CPR),Volume Rendering (VR) to assess the crotid artery.Those patients were classfied into two groups:infarction group (98 patients),control group (244 paitents). The location,morphology, the extent of lumen stenosis were analysed.Chi-square test was used for judgment of statistical analysis. Results The prevalence of carotid arterial steosision in cerebral infarction group was higher than that of control group (χ2=12.6 p<0.01); The exent and severity of carotid arterial stenosis were more prominent in cerebral infarction group than those of control group (χ2=6.33 p<0.05). In most cerebral infarction patients, the stenosis was seen at the start of internal carotid artery and the carvernous sinus of internal carotid artery(p<0.01, p<0.05), The dectection rate of the carvernous sinus of internal carotid artery plaque and the start of internal carotid artery plaque in disease group was signifiantly higher than the one of control group(p<0.01, (p<0.01)).Bilateral carotid arterical stenosis in fraction group was similer to the (p>0.05). Conclusion There was significant positive correlation between cerebral infarction and carotid arterial stenosis. With the increasing of exent and severity of carotid arterial stenosis, the risk of cerebral infarction was increased. In cerebral infarction patients, the stenosis tend to exist at the bifurcation of carotid artery .There was a close relationship between stenosis in the start of interal carotid artery or the carvernous sinus of internal carotid artery and cerebral infarction. The occurrence rate of carotid arterial stenosis in cerebrarl infarction were much more than that in control group .There was unsignificant positive correlation between bilatered of carotid arterial stenosis. |
