This article focused on the applications of GIS in the study of disease, especially in the study of schistosomiasis. In the process of analyzing the present condition of schistosomiasis,it was found that the schistosomiasis researches were so many on the factors of its formation, development and epidemicity. But there were still some phenomenon could not be explained, such as Guizhou is no-distribution of schistosomiasis, but the environmental conditions in which were very similar with Sichuan and Yunnan. Therefore, according to the vast literatures and collating of data on schistosomiasis in Pengshan, we studied on the occurrence and development of the schistosome in terms of the palaeogeographic evolution and the agricultural technological progress. Basing on the GIS technology, this article researched that schistosomiasis japonica had been distributed in different regions because of the being of the Pangea. With the plate motion,Szechwan Basin had experienced embryonic stage, formation stage, strengthening stage and local variation stage, and the Yangtze River also had formed a lot of tributaries in several geological ages, especially in the Pleistocene. So it provided the basic geographical conditions for schistosome in Pengshan. On the basis, this article discussed the changes of the epidemic trend about schistosome caused by several agricultural technological progresses. There occurred some changes about the reform of winter paddy field and water system, rice field changing to dry farmland, conversion of cropland to forest in Pengshan. Using GIS, we sorted out the related data, and built spatial database to properly and canonically manage the spatial data and the attribute data. By spatial analysis of the data, we revealed the relation between the paleogeography, evolution of the water system and the occurrence and development of the schistosome, and iconically the promotion of the forth agricultural technological progresses on the by time animation. In addition, we also analyzed the relation about the distribution of the schistosome with the water system, vegetation and parasitifer. According to this article, we put forward the policies on the prevention schistosome and cure of the schistosomiasis, in order to provide foundation to relevant administration on policy making.
