| Objective To study the morphologic changes and dynamic characteristics of ovarian blood flow with transvaginal ultrasonongraphy in patients with premature ovarian failure(POF).Methods 36 patients with POF and 36 normal women were studied. Ovary blood flow including peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity (EDV) , resistance index (RI) and pulsatility index(PI) were measured by transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography. Results Morphologically, all the 36 pairs of ovaries in the 36 patients with POF were significantly smller than the nomanl women(the transverse diameter and antero-posterior diameter, P<0.01) .There were not marked cyclicity changes in ovarian blood flow in patients with POF. The ovarian stromal flow PSV was significant lower and RI,PI higher in the patients with POF than those in early follicle stages of healthy reproductive women(16.42±11.72cm/s vs 23.18±4.94cm/s, 3.62±2.33cm/s vs 7.35±1.69cm/s,0.79±0.16 vs 0.68±0.07,2.20±1.21 vs 1.42±0.3,P<0.01, respectively). Conclusion There were marked characteristics changes of ovarian morphologic and blood flow in patients with POF.Transvaginal color doppler ultrasonography may be used as one of new diagnostic parameters of the patients with POF. |
