| Objective:Evaluation left atrial systolic and diastolic function of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by strain rate imaging. Methods:SRI data were recorded in Twenty five HCM patients and thirthy subjects in long axis for the basic, middle, apical segment of lateral, anterior and inferior LA walls. The peak SRI during the contractile, reservoir and conduit LA phases were measured. To measure left atrial dimension(LAD), interventricular sepmm(IVS),posterior wall of left ventricular(LVPW),peak velocity ratio of the early filling wave(E),atrial contraction wave(A),pulmonary venous systolic flow(S),pulmonary venous diastolic flow(D),reversal pulmonary venous flow at atrial contraction(AR) and the duration time. Results:The interventricular septum thicker in HCM patients than in Nor group(P<0.05),LAD larger in HCM patients than in Nor group(P<0.05),LAEF lower in HCM patients than in Nor group(P<0.05).The SRI data during contractile, reservoir and conduit phases in basic, middle, apical segment of lateral, anterior and inferior LA walls lower in HCM patients than in Nor group(P<0.05).The peak velocity of S,D higher in HCM patients than in Nor group(P<0.05).The duration of S,D longer in HCM patients than in Nor group(P<0.05).The peak velocity and duration of AR in HCM as well as in Nor group were similar. The LA wall SRI data of R period in HCM showed negative correlation with peak velocity of S(r=-0.76,P<0.05),showed positive correlation with duration of S(r=0.72,P<0.05).The LA wall SRI data of CD period in HCM showed negative correlation with peak velocity of D(r=-0.64,P<0.05), showed positive correlation with duration of D(r=0.68,P<0.05).Conclusion:Our data suggest that systolic as well as diastolic dysfunction in HCM patients, the dysfunction in HCM patients can also change peak velocity and duration of systolic, diastolic pulmonary venous flow. |
