IntroductionPoverty and social inequality in the whole world are growing both in scope and in complexity.The urban poverty in China is not only as a lack of access to a variety of material and non-material resources,which has become a major and pressing social and health policy challenge in China,but also as social environment-related and psychosocial deprivation at the cultural,social and health levels.Although there were many studies about urban poverty,but study about the health status of new urban poverty in China was few.The 36-item Short Form Health Survey is a multi-purpose,short-form health survey that is made up of thirty-six items and eight scales and can be used on evaluation of physical and mental health.It has been utilized most widely as a tool to evaluate quality of life in the world.During the past few years,it has been translated, culturally adapted,and psychometrically evaluated in more than 20 countries.A Chinese Mandarin version of the SF-36 has been translated from original English version through a rigorous scientific process of forward and backward translations,and tested in a population from mainland China.SF-36 is a psychometrically acceptable instrument for assessing the health status of different groups of China,comparing general and specific populations,estimating the relative burden of different diseases, differentiating the health benefits of different treatments and screening individual patients.In addition,we evaluated which domains of health were most affected and to what degree they were reflected on the SF-36.To make clear the quality of life quantitatively between the new urban poverty and traditional poverty,In this survey we chose Fuxin as an representative of new urban poverty in China,The Medical Outcome Study 36-Item Short-Form(SF-36)was chosen as the measure of health status in this survey.The result will provide information for medical unit and government. Object and Method1.Research objectThe data in Fuxin of Liaoning for the study came from two representative communities including most of lose-job people,all poverty families were invested. Normal people came from other four communities who were surveyed at random.2.Research methodThis study was a cross-sectional investigation.Investigators were community staff and they explained the questionnaire to the subjects.Subjects must be posses reading power and clear mind,and they should complete questionnaire by themselves.3.Research contentThe questionnaire is constituted of the general situation and the 36-item Short Form Health Survey.The general situation was about basic information of the subjects and their family. It included sex,age,occupation,health state,economic state,the expense of education and medical treatment,debt state etc.The 36-item Short Form Health Survey includes thirty-six items,and these items except HT comprise eight scales that form two summaries,physical component summary and mental component summary.The eight scales consist of Physical Functioning,Role Physical,Bodily Pain,General Health,Vitality,Social Functioning, Mental Health,Role Emotional.4.Analysis methodCronbach'sαis used to assess the internal consistency reliability.Validity includes aggregate validity,discrimination validity and structure validity.The analysis of impact factors that effect physical and structure health of different-income people use Logistic regression with general condition being independent variable.The unscrambling,recording,checking and analysis of all data were executed by the software of SPSS 13.0.Factor analysis,Logistic regression,t test and ANOVA were used in this study.ResultThe internal consistency of SF-36 was good.Factor analysis showed two factor, which could account for 70.01%of total variance.The structure validity was almost the same as the hypothesized except RE.SF-36 was applicable for life quality assessment in Fuxin.The quality of life of urban poverty and traditional poverty were lower than the normal people.Health Transition of poverty people was better than one year age.The quality of life of the normal people was significantly higher with the raising income, but the quality of life's scales of the normal people were lower above 1000yuan per month.The impact factors of physical and mental health of the new urban poverty were the sickness;the impact factors of physical health of the traditional people were the debt and the educational expense;the impact factors of mental health of the traditional people were the occupation and the health states.The impact factors of physical health of the normal people were age,the health states and the debt;the impact factors of the mental health of the normal people were the health states.The quality of life of poverty people in Fuxin were higher than poverty people in Shenyang,but the Normal people in Fuxin were lower than those in Shenyang.Conclusion1.Qualities of life of the new urban poverty and traditional poverty was lower than normal people.The urban poverty's life was better than traditional poverty.2.Qualities of life might be up if raised with the poverty's income in Fuxin.3.The factors that influent different poverty people's physical and psychical health in Fuxin were different.Principal factors influencing the Physical Component Summary were health,educational expense,debt,and Principal factors influencing the Mental Component Summary were health and occupation.4.Qualities of poverty people's life of Fuxin is better than Shenyang and the normal people's life was worse than Shenyang.
