ObjectiveSalivary gland tumor is the second tumor especially in oromaxillo-facial region which accounted for 22.7%.It lesions the patients' appearances and aggravates their anxious.Tumor depends on angiogenesis. As a detection of MVD mark,it is valuable for evaluating the situation of new vessel in salivary gland tumor using CD105.CT perfusion imaging is an accurate means for analyzing blood perfusion state in salivary tumors. We used immunohistochemical techniques to detect the expression of CD34 and CD105 in Salivary gland tumor after operation and to account MVD.We studied the CT Perfusion Imaging feature in order to explore its relationship with MVD and CT parameters, which can offer a new way for early discovery and correct diagnosis in Salivary gland tumor.Materials and Methods1.33 patients with salivary gland tumors were selected, whose age was ranging from 16 to 71 years(median 37.3).They were undergone perfusion imaging of neoplasm with cine mode on 64-slice SCT before their operations. The data acquisition and imagines were collected. The surgical and pathological outcomes were collected for comparison.2.Using immunohistochemical ElivisionTM plus staining,we examined MVD in these salivary gland tumors by proteins CD34 and CD105.As control, expression of these proteins in normal salivary gland were also detected.3.The expressions and difference of MVD were analyzed in the malignant and nonmalignant salivary gland tumors;to compare the CT perfusion imaging parameters in the malignant and nonmalignant salivary gland tumors, and as well as MVD and the CT perfusion imaging parameters.Result1.The expression of CD34 in all salivary gland tumors, but uneven.Mean value of MVD(CD34)of nonmalignant tumors is(25.87±14.75)(strip)in 15 patients, and that of malignant tumors is(31.61±12.74)(strip) in 18 patients. There was negative correlation between nonmalignant tumors and malignant tumors.(t=-1.20,p=0.24).2.The expression of CD105 in salivary gland tumors located in cell membrane/ cytolymph and vascular endothelial cell of the new vessel, amber -colored coarse grain in the tumor and sable in endothelial cell, but negative in the great vessels. They were misdistribution, seldom has visible vessel.Mean value of MVD(CD105)of nonmalignant tumors is(16.87±9.36)(mark)in 15 patients, and that of malignant tumors is(21.11±8.51)(mark)in 18 patients. There was negative correlation between nonmalignant tumors and malignant tumors.(t=-1.36,p=0.18).3.The values of BF,BV and PS of the malignant tumors were significantly higher than those of nonmalignant tumors. The values of BF,BV,MTT and PS between nonmalignant and malignant tumors were statistically significant(p<0.01) and the values of MTT was not statistically significant(P=0.93).There was positive correlation between BF value,BV value,PS value and MVD,and correlation was statistically significant(p<0.01),MTT value of CT perfusion imaging has negative correlation to MVD of tumors.ConclusionsAs a detection of MVD mark,it is valuable in evaluating the situation of new vessel in salivary gland tumor to use CD105.But there are no discriminations between malignant tumors and non malignant tumors in salivary gland detection of MVD marked by CD105 or CD34.CT perfusion imaging is an accurate means for analyzing blood perfusion state in salivary tumors in vivo and it has an important clinical utility in differentiating benign and malignant tumors of the salivary gland.
