Studies On Active Chemical Components Of Potentilla Freyniana Bornm Root

Protentilla Freyniana Bornm is distributed in Central China, East China and South-west China. Its rhizome or the whole herb is used as medicine in China and tastes puckery as it is bitter in nature. It is also often used as a traditional popular prescription for abdominal pain, stomachache. This medicine herb is not as yet included in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China (2004) and little has been reported about its chemical components and biological activities at home and abroad.The main contents of this paper are summarized as follows:(1)We compared different methods that were used to extract the Chemical compounds from Protentilla Freyniana Bornm root and find that the best method is reflow.(2)The active part of Protentilla Freyniana Bornm root and its inhibition on zoster virus have been studied.(3)The active part of Protentilla Freyniana Bornm root and its inhibition on bacterium inducing caries have been observed.(4)Eight different types of compounds were found from Protentilla Freyniana Bornm root and their structures were determined with different color response and spectral techniques. The results show that crystal 1 is beta- sitosterol, crystal 2, beta-alexandrin, Crystal 3,inositol, Crystal 4, oleanolic acid, Crystal 8 suspected ursolic acid ,However, structures of crystal 5,6,7 remain to be determined.(5)The six active compounds of Protentilla Freyniana Bornm root and its inhibition on zoster virus have been observed.
