Objective:To study the expression of MMP-7 in rectal adenocarcinoma and evaluate the relationship between the expression and neural invasion.Methods: The expression of MMP-7 was examined by S-P immunohistochemical technique in 61case of rectal adenocarcinoma and 61 case of normal mucous membrane of rectum. Mark the informationg of neural invasion of rectal adenocarcinoma by S-100 protein.Result: The positive rates of MMP-7 was 90.16% in rectal adenocarcinomas and 8.20% in normal mucous membrane of rectum.The positive rates of neural invasion of rectal adenocarcinomas was 29.51%. The MMP-7 expression was stronger in which with neural invasion than without neural invasion ( p < 0.05).Of the rectal adenocarcinomas,the positive intensities of MMP-7 was associated with the histological grade,the deepth of invasion and clinicopathological stages as well as lymph node metastasis diseases(p<0.05).Conclusion: The rise of MMP-7 correlate with the neural invasion of rectal denocarcinomas , and may be play an important role on the development and lymph node metastasis of rectal adenocarcinomas.It is an useful marker for predicting the prognosis of rectal adenmcarcinomas. |
