Objective:To study the Correlation of the body composition components and body mass index,FAT,LEAN of Chinese obesity and healthy persons by DEXA in an attempt to explore the correlation of body composition components and bone mineral density of the obesity determined by DEXA and provide an approach for the obesity diagnosis on the basis of medical imaging studies.Material & Method:The subject of the study was divided into two groups, the obesity group and the control group.There were 150 cases in the obesity group diagnosed by their BMI in the First Affiliate Hospital of Guangxi Medical University.Among them,there were 75 male patients,with average age of 63.54±15.30,weight of 78.70±10.72kg,while the female were 75 with average age of 58.35±9.51,weight of 66.95±8.76kg.There were 75 persons in the control group from the crowd of healthy outpatient(normal BMI)who came to have a routine check-up in the First Affiliate Hospital of Guangxi Medical University.Among them,there were 75 male persons,with average age of 58.24±19.5,weight of 63.62±7.46kg,while the female were 75 with average age of 57.62±11.68,weight of 51.97±7.06kg.The DEXA device was " Lunar PLODIGY" bone densitometry.Used the medical body height and weight measuring instrument to carry height and weight on the routine measurement, simultaneously calculated the BMI= body weight(kg)/the height2(m2).Make the subject lie flat on the treatment table and make a DEXA scan in a standard mode,while the scanner moved over the head side to the leg side within five minutes,recording the total and local parameters(the fat composition,the lean, the BMD of the arm,leg,trunk and total body).The stastic software SPSS12.0 is used to stastilized the data of our test.After the DEXA scanning,Trunk FAT (kg),LEAN(kg),FAT%and BMD(g/cm~2)of total body and the pats of body including arms,Legs and trunk are got ready.The stastic software SPSS 12.0 is used to stastilized the data of our test.The present study included the following items:①to obtain some DEXA statistic data of the body composition components including FAT,LEAN and FAT%and their distribution in the healthy and obesity subject population of different age and sex;②to examine the diagnosing ability of DEXA between the fat and non-fat composition by RCV;③to obtain some DEXA statistic data of the body fat and nonfat composition and distribution in the patient subject population of different age and sex in an attempt to explore the diagnosing index of obesity determined by DEXA;④to examine the correlation between body composition and distribution including FAT,LEAN,FAT%and BMD in the control group and obesity group,in order to analyze their correlation.Result:1.The RCV of FAT,LEAN,FAT%and BMD weighed by DEXA is 1.07%,0.93%,1.19%,0.58%respectively.2.In male,FAT and FAT%in all parts of body of obesity group are significantly higher than that of contol group,especially Trunk FAT;LEAN in trunk and total body of obesity group are significantly higher than that of contol group;BMD in trunk and total body of obesity group are significantly higher than that of contol group.3.In female,FAT and FAT%in all parts of body of obesity group are also significantly higher than that of contol group,especially FAT in trunk and legs; LEAN in all parts of body of obesity group are significantly higher than that of contol group;BMD in all parts of body of obesity group are significantly higher than that of contol group.4.There are great significant gender differences on the stastic data of FAT,LEAN,FAT%and Total BMD.5.In male:there is significant negative correlation between total BMD and age,but total BMD is positive correlation with BMI,FAT,LEAN,FAT%and Trunk FAT;age,BMI and LEAN are the main factors that influence BMD,especially LEAN.6.In female:there is also significant negative correlations between total BMD and age,but total BMD is positive correlation with BMI,FAT,LEAN,FAT%and Trunk FAT;age,BMI and FAT are the main factors that influence BMD, especially FAT.Conclusion:1.The significant increasing of fat tissue in all parts of body is a major cause of change of body composition components in obesity.FAT in trunk increases more obviously than that in orther parts of the body,which exists in both male and female.It points out that the abdominal type takes highest proportion in all type of obesity,regardless of male or female.2.FAT and LEAN are positive correlation with BMD.There are great significant gender differences.3.Trunk FAT is significant positive correlation with BMD.It point out that abdominal type of obesity may be protection factor of BMD,and the change of distribution of fat tissue can obviously influence BMD.
