Objective:To discuss the variety and pertinence among the levels of insulin resistance, blood serum free fatty acid in subjects with Type 2 Diabetes after antidiatebes medication.Methods:54 patinents with Type 2 Diatebes had been treated with merformin and glipizid for 12 weeks, and we measured the fasting blood serum FFA,Leptin, insulin and blood glucose beforeand after treatments, and then calculated the HOMA-IR.The normal group was measured the same index, and processed statistic analyses. Results:â‘ The HOMA-IR,fasting blood serum concentrations of FFA,Leptin are higher than the normal group, even in subjects whose BMI and waistline was the same as normal.â‘¡The HOMA-IR and fasting FFA were improved distinctly, the differences showed statistic significance;fasting blood serum concentrations of Leptin was lower but without notable difference.â‘¢The concentrations of fasting blood serum FFA and Leptin were correlated with the HOMA-IR,but FFA had no relationship with Leptin. Conclusion:â‘ The concentrations of fasting blood serum free fatty acid and Leptin which were higher in Type 2 Diabetes subjects were correlated with the index of insulin resistance, and both important to insulin resistance.â‘¡The affections of free fatty acid and Leptin to insulin resisitance were independent of each other.â‘¢the decrease of free fatty acid contributed to the improvement of insulin resistance most after treatments.
