Clinical Application Of Holmium Laser In Urological Diseases

Objective: To evaluate the clinical application and effect of the holmium laser in the treatment of urological diseases. To discuss the skills in the operative procedure and the prevention of complications.Methods: 51 cases of BPH were treated by the holmium laser enucleation and morcellation of prostate, 31 cases of bladder carcinoma and 5 cases of cystitis glandularis were resected by holmium laser transurethrally, 42 cases of renal calculi accepted minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy, 107 cases of ureteric calculi accepted transurethral ureteroscopic lithotripsy, 6 cases of urethral stricture underwent urethrotomy using holmium laser.Result: 50 cases of BPH underwent laser enucleation of prostate, 31 cases of bladder carcinoma and 5 cases of cystitis glandularis were resected, 35 cases of renal calculi and 99 cases of ureteric calculi were fragmented in a single procedure, 6 cases of urethral stricture can urinate unobstrutedly after operation.Result: With the advantages of safety,minimal invasion and certain curative effect, holmium laser provide a new clinical method and has made this tool a versatile multi-purpose instrument for use in the endoscopic treatment of a wide variety of urologic disorders.
