Objective: To study the radioactive effects caused by 125I seeds. To reveal the mechanism of the effect caused by 125I seeds, and to discuss the feasibility of the application of 125I in the treatment of refractory hemangioma. Methods: 32 cocks were randomly divided into 4 groups, each 8, 125I with radioactivity 0.9,0.75,0.6,0mCi were implanted to combs. Apparent changes of combs were observed. The comb was taken in 10th,20th,30th,60th day, and examined by pathology,immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy. Results: The color of combs implanted with 125I seeds are changed from red to white, the diameter of white area is 6mm, The control group showed no change. 0.75mCi group has three cocks occur a blister in the implantation local in 20 days after operation, in the following week, blisters rupture, incrust and towards healing. 0.9mCi group has four cocks occur similar change in 18 days after operation. Optical and electron microscopy showed: Endothelial cells are Damage degree of endothelial cells are proportional to dose and time. Conclusions: 125I seeds implantation brachytherapy can destroy the structure of vascular endothelial cell, 125I seeds interstitial brachytherapy treatment may become a new treatment for hemangiomas. |
