| Objective: To observe therapeutic effect and discuss mechanism in treatment of carotid atherosclerosis plaque with micro-powder of dahuang;To provide scientific proof for prevention and cure of carotid atherosclerosis plaque and related cardiovascular and cerebrovascular dieases with Chinese trational medicine which can clear away heat and toxic material and stagnant blood such as dahuang. Methods: Eighty-four cases of carotid atherosclerosis plaque were divided into three groups randomly: micro-powder of dahuang group,twenty-eight cases,was treated with micro-powder of dahuang; Lovastatin group, twenty–eight cases, was treated with Lovastatin;blank group,twenty-eight cases,was not treated with medicine. The course of treatment was six month.To observe the effect on clinical symptom,and the changes of intima-media thickness (IMT),inside diameter, Crouse plaque integral, peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity(EDV), plaque pathologic classification and carotid classification in carotid, and the level of blood lipid, hs-CRP,sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,MMP-1,TIMP-1 in blood serum. Results: micro-powder of dahuang group can relieve symptom;can reduce IMT and expand inside diameter to restrain the development of plaque;can increase PSV and EDV to improve carotid blood flow;can regulate blood lipid;can decrease hs-CRP,sICAM-1,sVCAM-1 to restrain inflammation and decrease MMP-1,MMP-1/TIMP-1 to diminish degradation of extracellar material.Curative effect of micro-powder of dahuang group is mostly equal to and partly superior to Lovastatin group.Curative effect of micro-powder of dahuang group is remarkably superior to blank group. Conclusion: Micro-powder of dahuang can restrain and stabilize plaque which may be related with restraining inflammation , diminishing degradation of extracellar material, regulating blood lipid and so on.It can prevent and cure carotid atherosclerosis plaque and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases which are based on atherosclerosis. |
