Contrastive Study Of Radiofrequency Ablation Maze Procedure Combined With Amiodarone For Treating Atrial Fibrillation In RHD Patients

objective: To study the sinus rate restoring rate of RHD valve surgery patients after treated by radiofrequency ablation Maze procedure combined with amiodarone and compare with those treated only with amiodarone. And the affecting factors were analyzed.Methods: All patients in two groups were undergone valve surgeries. Forty two patients in test group were also undergone radiofrequency ablation Maze procedure combined with amiodarone. And thirty three patients in contrast group were only treated with amiodarone. The follow up time was 6 months and ECGs were recorded at given time. The sinus rhythm restoring rates were recorded and the affecting factors were analyzed. Results: The sinus rhythm restoring rates of the test and contrast groups are respectively 77.5% and 6.1%.There are significant differences between the two groups(P＜0.01). The average radiofrequency ablation time was (15±3.6) minutes. There were no atrium perforation, hemorrhage and degree 3 atrioventricular block. Patients with small left atrium and short term of atrial fibrillation were easy to restore sinus rhythm. And EF ,PAP, heart function class grade, cardio-thoracic-ratio were not affecting factors. The postoperative heart rates are also significantly lower than preoperative in patients that had not restored sinus rhythm after radiofrequency ablation Maze procedure.Conclusions: There are only a very few of patients can restore sinus rhythm spontaneously after valve surgery. Radiofrequency ablation Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation in RHD patients can achieve satisfied sinus rhythm restoring rate. Patients with small left atrium and short term of atrial fibrillation can achieve more satisfied results. And the operation is safe enough for carry out easily.
