| Purpose: To explore the superiority and the shortage of subtraction16-slice CT angiography, and the value in diagnosing occlusive disease ofhead and carotid artery. Methods: 42 patients underwent precontrast and postcontrast, the datawere transfered to workstation for subtracting, at last for 3Dreconstruction, two radiologists assessed the image quality and analyzedthe disease, including the degree of stenosis and disease of artery wall.MIP and VR of 3D reconstruction were compared. The category ofstenosis was determined according to the North American SymptomaticCarotid Endarterectomy Trial: mild (0% to 49%), moderate (50% to 69%),severe (70% to 99%), and occlusion (100%).8 patients accepted DSAexam at the same time, including 3 patients who were followed up afterstenting operation.Result: 91.8% arteries of all could be assessed, there was statisticaldifference between MIP and VR, the quality of MIP was better.35diseased arteries were diagnosed, including mild stenosis13, moderatestenosis 8, severe stenosis 8, occlusion 6.8 patients accepted DSA examat the same, the results w.ere equal with DSCTA, the arteries of stentingwere unobstructed. Conclusion: Subtraction 16-slice spiral CT angiography can acquiregood imaging quality, MIP is the better construction method, it has highvalue in diagnosing occlusive disease of carotid artery and can replace theDSA exam. |
