Effects Of Benazepril On The Expressions Of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor In The Kidney Of Diabetic Nephropathy Rats

Objective: To evaluate the effects of benazepril on the renal protection by determining the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the kidney of in Streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy ratsMethods: 24 normal Wister rats were randomly divided into the control group, diabetic nephropathy group and diabetic nephropathy plus benazepril group. There were 8 rats for each group. Two days after models establishment, benazepril was administrated (10mg/kg) by a stomach tube in treatment group, and same amount of water was fed in model and control group. After 2,4,8weeks , we detected the blood sugar, weight, urinary protein/24h, SCr, BUN; After 8 weeks, 8 rats for each group were killed., and using optics microscope and electronic microscope to observe the renal pathological changes. Immunohistochemistry were performed to determine the protein expression of VEGF. Measurement material by mean value±standard deviation (x|-±s) expressed, the group the different comparison uses the variance analysis and the T-test, Immunity histochemistry semi-quantitative grading uses the order and the examination.Results: In the control group, they had low level expression of VEGF, in the model group, on the contrast, expression of VEGF significantly increased. After treatment of benazepril, expression of VEGF was obviously reduced. Correlation analysis showed that the expression of VEGF was positively relating to the damage of renal tissue. Uses the SPSS10.0 statistics software, the expression difference has statistics significanc (P<0.05).Conclusion: Benazepril may be inhibiting the over-expression of VEGF in kidney of diabetic rats.
