Clinical Study On Treating Spastic Paralysis Post-Stroke With Needling JiaJi Points

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of needling Jiaji points on treating spastic paralysis post-stroke.Method: 120 cases of spastic paralysis post-stroke who conformed to the study criteria, who were in accordance with his or her period of disease, age, coincidence and (or) complications, were stratified. Then every strata, according to their hospital admission order, were randomly divided into acupuncture Jiaji points Group(treatment group),conventional acupuncture Group(control group) and Myonal tablets for oral using Group(control group). In the course of treatment, all patients included in were applied anti-spasm position treatment and the routinely treatment of cerebrovascular disease equally, In this foundation, patients were given needling Jiaji points, needling points of conventionally using and oral tablets of Myonal respectively. The whole course of treatment was one month. Before and after treatment, the patients' upper and lower extremity muscular tension, motor function and ability of activities of daily living were assessed in with the Modified Ashworth Scale, CSS, Fugl-Meyer Scale and the Functional Independent Measurement Scale.Results: Acupuncture Jiaji points Group, conventional acupuncture Group and the Myonal tablets for oral using Group could ease limb dystonia, improve motor function and ability of activities of daily living in spastic paralysis poststoke patients; with a significant difference compared to that of treatment before (P＜0.05). Compared these three groups, acupuncture Jiaji points group was more effective than others in any above aspects. The difference was significant (P＜0.05). Meanwhile, the results showed that the patients' recovery of their limb dystonia, motor function and ability of activities of daily living when they were in rehabilitation period were better than in sequel period, in less than 70 years were better than in older than 70 years, without coincidence and (or) the complications were better than having coincidence and (or) the complications, The difference was significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion: 1. Needling Jiaji points, needling points of conventionally using and oral tablets of Myonal can alleviate muscular tension of limbs, improve motor function and ability of activities of daily living, but the curative effect of needling Jiaji points is significantly superior to that of theothers.2. Clinical effect in spastic paralysis post-stroke patients is related to the period of disease, age and having or not coincidence and (or) complications. In the limb dystonia, motor function and ability of activities of daily living, the patients in rehabilitation period were better than in sequel period, in less than 70 years were better than in older than 70 years, without coincidence and (or) the complications were better than having coincidence and (or) the complications.
