The Effect Of The Acetabular Abduction By The Pelvic Obliqueness And Its Clinical Significance

Objective This study was designed to get the rule of the angles of theacetabular abduction when facing the different pelvic obliquenessangles.Methods The angle of the acetabular abduction of 21 pelvis all 42hip joints were measured with the manual devices when facing the 9different pelvic obliqueness angles.Results There was no statistical difference of the both sexes anglesof the acetabular abduction as the change of obliqueness of the pelvis.The pelvic obliqueness angle and abduction angle showed the positivelinear correlation by the linear regress analysis. (R=0.9998,P=0.0000＜0.01)Conclusion There was no statistical difference of the both sexes anglesof the acetabular abduction as the change of obliqueness of the pelvis.Based on the results of the study, we can get the average abductionangle is 46.5°when the obliqueness angle is 0°, and the scope of theangles is 43.8°～49.2°. The change of obliqueness of the pelvisinfluences the level of the acetabular abduction, as obliqueness angle of the pelvis increases 10°, the abduction increases 9.4°. The aboveresults provide reliable anatomical basis for total hip arthroplasty.
