| Objective To investigate the correlation between the different genotypes at the position -889 in the promoter of interleukin-1αand the severity of coronary heart disease (CHD )Methods The genotype of IL-1α(-889C/T) 98 patients with CHD and 131 healthy controls were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).Results The frequences of genotype in Gansu Province Han Nationality were CC 79.9%,CT 19.7%,TT 0.04%,The frequences of allele were C 89.7%,T10.3%,The genotype distribution was in accordance with Hard-Weinberg equilibrilum.A significantly increase was found for the IL-1αT allele in CHD patients compared with controls( 28%vs14.6%, x~2 =6.63,P<0.01 ) ,there was significantly different between myocardinal infarction group with genotype CT/TT and controls(x~2 =11.58, P<0.01) ,But there was no significantly different between anginapectoris group with genotype CT/TT and controls (x~2 =0.68, P>0. 05) , the relative risk of myocardinal infarction group with CT/TT was 2.02 times to anginapectoris (OR=2.02,95%CI 1.05~3.89, x~2 =4.65, P<0.05)Conclusion The polymorphism of C/T genotypes at the position -889 C/T in the promoter of interleukin-1 alpha is present and T allele may be a major risk factor for myocardinal infarction patients in Gansu Han Nationality. |
