Study On Inpatients' Nursing Needs In A Three-grade General Hospital

Background Patients who must be care in hospitals are the most important factor that influence the nursing quality . Early correctly evaluating the needs of the patients and to help meet their needs is an important responsibility of the nursing staff.Especially as inpatients,with rapid development of society and the economy, and people's living standard improving, nursing needs have changed in its content and form, and formed the versatile nursing. According to reports, patients' needs not only become complicated, but also change continuely in future. So the study on nursing needs will be a long-term task, and also is of great significance. The new issue that nursing managers face is how to develop the nursing needs better and provide satisfactory service under the market economy conditions. The literatures about nersing needs and nursing service supply are less and their content and methods are more limited. The research on nursing needs and the nursing service supply is a weak link at present, and were not found the survey questionnaire of nursing needs which can be agreed by most experts in checking documents.Purpose Inquire into the nursing needs of inpatients in hospital . Grasp the character of the nursing needs and their related factors, excavate patients' needs in deep-level, discusse the law of the patients' needs ,provide the theory basis for the nursing managers to work out measures improving the nursing job. And propose corresponding improvement measures to meet the patients' nursing needs.Method Design a questionnaire by myself. The reliability and the validity of the questionnaire are believed. Then gave out questionnaires in internal and surgery wards added to 8 wards for every 2 weeks with Cluster Sampling. Finally gained effective 430 questionnaires. All data record enter SPSS10.0 and carry out the statistic analysis, carry out the descriptive statistics , adopt Independent-Sample T Test, One-Way ANOVA to analysis data, give out Correlation Coefficients, carry out Multiple Linear Regression and Logistic regression.Conclusion 1. Inpatients have broad needs.The physiology and the safe needs are still main, but "the socity needs"and " the self-respect needs" are higher. This proposed the challenge to the hospital managers ' service idea.2. Patients in different wards have different characteristic needs; 3.The older the patients are, the more the physiology needs and society needs are ;the youth group need less in some fields comparatively;4.Female patients need more on technologies operation than the male; 5. Married patients need more in physiology needs than the unmarried, and in some aspect also more; 6.Peasants need more in physiology needs than person in other fields; different occupations person have different needs in some aspect; 7.The patients being unable to take care of themselves completely need more in physiology , in some individual needs also more than patients in partly taking care of themselves and taking care of themselves completely; 8. The patients with different level of education has a little different needs in some aspect; 9. The different level economy incomes have different needs in some aspect; 10. Patients being in hospital for different period have different needs only in some individual event; 11. There is no obvious difference nursing needs between patients have medicine insurance and patients who haven't that; 12. Patients whether have been in other hospitals have difference in some individual event; 13.Age and degree of satisfaction are pocitive correlation , the older the age is , the higher the degree of satisfaction is; Patients who take care of themselves completely are more satisfactry than patients in partly taking care of themselves; Professionals is lower than peasant, cadre , retires in degree of satisfaction; times of being in hospital and degree of satisfaction assume the negetive correlation. 14.Patients also bring forward some needs example for improving environment facilities , exempting and reducing cost , increasing nursing staff, being in progress pursuing service and so on in the opening problems.Suggestion 1.Change the service idea, provide nursing service for patients inall-direction;2.Practically take patients as the center and establish reasonablynursing work flow; 3.Advancing with the times , to promote nursing workssustainable development;4.Establish the healthy file, perfect the service system;5.Improve the hospital environment facility, carry out the personalization service;6.Take some measures to reduce the medical fee.
