[Objective] This study was designed to measure the expression of Survivin mRNA ,telomerase activity in larynx squamous carcinoma as well as nearby normal tissue, analyze the relationships between Survivin mRNA ,telomerase activity and prognostic factors including age, gender, clinical stage, classification, pathological grading , cervical lymph node metastasis, and the relationshiop between survivin mRNA and telomerase activity.[Methods]Expression of Survivin mRNA and telomerase activity were analysed in 23 patients of larynx squamous carcinoma by FQ-PCR and TRAP-ELISA .[Results]1.Telomerase activity and Survivin mRNA were significantly higher in larynx squamous carcinoma than in normal larynx tissue.2.Telomerase activity and Survivin mRNA had some relationships to the pathological grading, the clinical stage, cervical lymph node metastasis, but they was unrelated to the clinical classification ,age and gender.3.Survivin mRNA in larynx squamous carcinoma had some correlation to telomerase activity.[Conclusions]1. FQ-PCR and TRAP-ELISA are quickly, sensitive, specific, and quantitative methods to analyse samples.2. Telomerase activity and Survivin mRNA can be used as markers to diagnosis ,evaluate the development and predict the cervical lymph node metastasis and prognosis of larynx squamous carcinoma . 3. Survivin maybe was one of the cell factors to increase telomerase activity. |
