| [Objective]To observe the influence of Xuezhikang on expression of E-selectin in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) induced by angiotensin II (Ang II) ,to investigate the Ang II -induced inflammatory response and the non-lilid mechanism of 3-hydroxg-3-methylgluturgl coenzyme A ( HMG-CoA ) reductase inhibitors on anti-atherosclerosis. [Methods]The level of E-selectin in cultured HUVECs strain (ECV-304) exposed to Ang II (10-10～10-6mol/L) or Xuezhikang (62.5～500ng/ml) + Ang II ( 10-6mol/L ) was measured by cell enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and in the same time the level of E-selectin mRNA was measured by reverse transcription - polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) .And the adhesion ratio between endothelial cells and monocyte cells after treatment with Ang II (10-6mol/L) or Xuezhikang (500ng/ml) + Ang II (10-6mol/L) in different time (2h, 4h, 6h, 8h, 12h) was measured by cell-counting . [Results]It was found that Ang II of 10-9～10-6mol/L could remarkablystimulate the production of E-selectin in endothelial cells after 4h(P<0.05) ,but not by 10-10mol/L,and Xuezhikang of 125～500ng/mlcould inhibit the expression of E-selectin that induced by Ang II( P<0.05 ) ,but not by 62.5ng/ml.
