| Objective:Physical condition is the quality of human body, referring to the comprehensive features of physical morphology, physiological functions and physical fitness on the basis of inherit and acquisition. It serves the material foundation for the production and living of mankind. The present research has aimed to raise the awareness of achieving public health through exercises, to enhance a better understanding of the influence of exercises on improving the above comprehensive features, and to judge whether the positive influence is statistically scientific, so as to lay a foundation for the following studies on the methods of losing weight for the fat people. The ultimate goal of medical research is achieving health. Valuable information and newconcepts begin to spring up with the growing concerns and studies, so we have a good reason to believe that physical education won't be just something on the textbook. Exercising contributes to not only bettered physical quality, but also curing and preventing of various diseases related to fatness.Methods: The present research has taken reference to the relevant studies both at home and abroad, and paid special attention to the uniqueness of Chinese females. From the series of indexes related to health, the major ones were selected for a comprehensive assessment, including those of body morphology, organic function and organic quality. 100 female members of Changchun LISPA club between 30 and 40 were selected at random to be the participants of this research. All the measuring devices satisfied the requirements of our country. According to the international requirement, one single examiner took charge of measuring all of theindexes of the participants before their starting physical exercises and three months after that. The indexes include height, weight, holding strength, push up exercises, sit-up for one minute, standing trunk flexion, standing on one foot with eyes closed, the girths of certain body parts (chest, waist, hip and thigh) , skinfold-thickness of certain body parts (triceps brachia, abdomen, subscapula, supraspinale and thigh), the VO2max examined by step measurement, etc. The exercises adopted are mostly from those of LES MILLS, which is a most popular physical building system in the world. It combines exercises, mental power, nutrition, aesthetics, performing arts and human relationship in the exercises like body jam, body combat, body pump, RPM, in addition to yoga, belly dance and physique training, etc. During the three months, participants were required to have exercises with the coaches at least five days every week, withno less than two hours every time. The specific training plans were set either in according to the result of the first physical test charged by a coach, or selected individually from the schedule of the club. Those who didn't have the required amount of exercises were excluded from the research, so did the data obtained, i.e. two cases were eliminated. Finally, SPSS was used to process and analyze the data of 98 cases, resulting in the averages,median and P of each index. The average of BMI and Pwere figured out by calculation with given formula. Step measurement and A°strand diagramming facilitated to get the VO2max as well as its average and P indirectly.Results: With SPSS, the data were processed and analyzed statistically, and the findings include the averages(median)and P of the specific indexes before participants had regular exercises and three months after that. According to the findings, the averagewaist girth was 81.38±8.07(cm),slightly more than what suggested by WHO, but it declined to 79.93±7.02(cm) after exercises, right within the scope of reference value; the average time span for standing on one foot with eyes closed was 7.00±5.01(s),which rose to 11.09±5.33(s);Body Mass Index(BMI)used to be 21.27±2.66(kg/m2),and changed to 20.76±2.32(kg/m2);the proportion of body fat ( BF% ) averaged 32.88%±4.72%,but fell to 30.83%±4.53%;waist-hip ratio(WHR)was 0.88±0.08,far exceeding the normal values suggested, and it decreased to 0.80±0.06,well within the scope for the normal;VO2 max was 2.10±0.33(L/min), and rose to 2.27±0.33(L/min). Therefore, all indexes seem to be more satisfying after exercises. The statistical analysis found that the P for hip girth was less than 0.05,which made this value statistically significant; whereas other P were all below 0.01,rather meaningful in statistics.Conclusion: This research proved that scientific physical exercises in short period (three months) could greatly improve the indexes for specific body morphology, organic function and comprehensive quality. The analysis results of the obtained data suggested waging a campaign for regular exercises, raising the health awareness of the public so as to achieve a conception of the national fitness program. |
