Background and Objective: Stroke is one of a disease haming the healthy of human, having high morbidity ,fatality and disability rate and 80 percent is ischemic stroke. In spite of studying and researching treatment for stroke for many years, the available data show only stroke unit, antiplatelet drug and thrombolysis have affirmative effect. Butylphthalide is a kind new chemistry drug for ischemic stroke developed by China. It can ameliorate microcirculation, raise cerebral blood flow on ischemic region, protect mitochondria function, improve brain energy metabolism, inhibit inflammatory reaction and restrain calcium inflow et al. Having excellent treatment and protection effect, but the mechanism of Butylphthalide is not definite.Recently having found brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) can significantly promote survival and growth of neuron, prevent damage and death, improve central lesion repair. Our research aim to observe protection effect of Butylphthalide for cerebral ischemia, to study the expression of BDNF, BDNFmRNA, NGF and NGFmRNA in neurons and glial cell after reperfusion for focal cerebral ischemia and permanent focal cerebral ischemia in rats.Method: 80 healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats, model with cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injury was established according to Zea-Longa by blocking middle cerebral artery (MCA) with a nylon thread , removing it from arteria carotis interna (ICA) 2 hours after occlusion as the model of reperfusion...
