Clinic Efficacy Of Anti-AF Pacing Therapy In Patients With Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation

Objectives : To access the clinic efficacy of anti-atrial fibrillation pacing therapy in patients with Paroxysmal Atrial fibrillation. Methods : 32 cases with SSS and PAF from April 2002 to December 2005 in therapy group were implanted with vitatron anti-atrial fibrillation pacemaker (vitatron SL900E or SL9000) according to conventional methods, and in 3month, 6month, 12month observed changes of such indexes as clinical situation and AF burden and score of quality of life (QOL) and cardiac function and UCG and complications and so on. Results : compared with index of 3month, During 6 months follow-up There were changes :AF burden decrease to( 54±6)% (P<0.05), the number of AF decrease to (34±8) percent month (p<0.05), the time of sinus increased to( 45±7)%(p< 0.05), number of AMS decreased to (11±5) percent month (p<0.05); During 12 months follow-up There were changes :AF burden decrease to( 21 ±9)% (P<0.05), the number of AF decrease to(18±5) percent month (p <0.05), the time of sinus increased to (70±6) % (p<0.05), number of AMS decreased to (6±2) percent month (p<0.05); compared with those before implanted pacemaker, During 6 months follow-up the score of QOL increased to 104.04 ± 6.27(p<0.05), During 12 months follow-up the score of QOL increased to 109.03±6.14(p<0.05), ;During averaged 12 months follow -up the index of LVEF and cardiac function have little improves ,but other index have no improves.Conclusions: Anti-atrial fibrillation pacing therapy may decrease the number of AF; Anti-atrial fibrillation pacing therapy may improve clinical situation and quality of life.
