| Objective To observe the expression and distribution of c-myc and c-fos in biliary scar tissue, to investigate the correlation between expression of key pro-oncogenes and benign biliary stricture. Methods 32 cases of biliary scars of patients with the benign biliary stricture and 10 cases of normal biliary tissues were collected. The microstructure of tissues in three group were studied with light microscopy under HE. Immunohistochemal technique was used to detect the expression and distribution of c-myc , c-fos proteins on extrahepatic bile duct scar tissue, intrahepatic bile duct scar tissue and normal bile duct tissue. Results c-myc and c-fos expression on the nucleus of fibroblast ,epithelial cell and endothelial cell of biliary scar tissues were significantly higher than normal biliary tissue. And there was obvious difference between scar tissue and normal tissue(P<0.01), then no difference between extrahepatic bile duct scar tissue and intrahepatic bile duct scar tissue (P>0.05).Conclusion ( 1 ) c-myc and c-fos oncogenes are activated on biliary scar tissues, which may contribute to proliferation and differentiation of fibroblasts, synthesis and degradation of collagen and regulation of cytokines and induce abnormal scarring. ( 2 ) There was tight corralation between c-myc , c-fos proto-oncogenes and benign biliary stricture scar tissue.there were positive correlations and co-operativity between c-myc and c-fos expression on extrahepatic bile duct scar tissue (r = 0.75,P<0.05)and on intrahepatic bile duct scar tissue(r =0.68,p<0.05). |
