Effect Of Melatonin And Compound Of Traditional Chinese Medicine On Alzheimer's Disease

In this paper, the effect of melatonin and Compound of Traditional Chinese Medicine of AD(Alzheimer's Disease) was examined in AD model mice which was induced by AlCl₃ aqueous solution injected intraperitoneally.Basing on the step-down test and the step-through test, the variation of the learning and memorizing ability of the model mice was observed, which were injected intraperitoneally AlCl₃ aqueous solution(10g/L) once every two days for 50 days at dosage of 100mg/kg, 75 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg respectively. It was showed that the learning and memorizing ability was decreased markedly in model mice. When melatonin intragastric administrated at dosage of 35mg/kg, 22mg/kg and 14mg/kg respectively, the results showed that the learning and memorizing ability of the model mice were improved depending on the dosage of melatonin, the dosage of 14mg/kg was the best. The model mice with AD were administrated intragastric by using of Compound of Traditional Chinese Medicine at dosage of 4.8g/kg, 9.7g/kg adn 14.6g/kg, the learning and memorizing ability was improved diversely, and the dosage of 14.6g/kg was the best one.After administrated melatonin and Compound of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the index of wet weight in cerebrum and spleen of the model mice with AD inducing by AlCl₃ injected intraperitoneally was improved obviously, activity of catalase in the red blood cell, content of reduced glutathione hormone and activity of cholinesterase in cerebrum increased...
