Objective To study ultrastructural feature of sympathetic nerve of palmar hyperhidrosis and discuss the relation between palmar hyperhidrosis and the expression of nAchR α 7 subunit in thorax sympathetic ganglia.Methods 30 sympathetic ganglia samples of hyperhidrosispatients and 15 samples of healthiness as normal contrast were obtained. Routine resin-embeded specimens were made and then observed by ultrathin sections under electronmicroscope. Furthermore, immunohistochemical staining was used to determine the expression of nAchR α 7 subunit in T2, T3, T4 sympathetic ganglia of another 20 cases of palmar hyperhidrosis and 10 normal contrasts.Results (1) Compared with normal contrast, the increasingcomparison of myelinated nerver fibers and the thicken wideth of myelin sheathes in T2, T3 and T4 sympathetic ganglia are observed in palmar hyperhidrosis. (2) The expression of nAchR α 7 subunit in T2, T3, T4 sympathetic ganglia of palmar hyperhidrosis is marked higher than that of healthiness (P<0. 05) , the expression of nAchR α 7 subunit in T2,T3 sympathetic ganglia is higher than that in T4 sympathetic ganglia of palmar hyperhidrosis (P<0. 05) and the expression of nAchR α 7 subunit in T2,T3,T4 sympathetic ganglia of healthiness is no obvious difference (P>0. 05).Conclusion The increasing number of myelinated nerver fiber and thicken myelin sheath are basic pathological changes in palmar hyperhidrosis.
