Objective: To investgate the value of EPS for microcosmic syndrome differ classificion in damp-heat syndrome by measuring expressed prostatic secretion of patients with chronic prostatitis. Methods: According to the diagnosis standard of NIH for CP and in TCM,confirming 28 out-patients of damp-heat syndrome and 15 out-patients of dificiency syndrome. To Evaluate the relation between EPS and microcosmic syndrome differ classificion of damp-heat syndrome, the levels of leukocyte count and small particle of lecithin were measured the degrees of symptom were tested with NIH—CPSI and damp-heat syndrome symptom index.Result: (1) There was no correlation between age of symptom duration and white blood cell counts in EPS (P > 0.05 ). (2) There was no correlation between the degrees of symptom and white blood cell counts in EPS (P>0.05) . (3) The levels of white blood cell counts in EPS were no significantly different between the patients of damp-heat syndrome and dificiency syndrome (P>0.05) . (4) The level of EPS-SPL in the patients of damp-heat syndrome was significantly lower than dificiency syndrome (P<0.05) .Conclusion: l)The age and course of diseases have little influence on the patients of CP. 2) The severity of symptoms do not correlate with leukocyte count, so the leukocyte count in EPS is not the guideline which judge the severity of symptoms. 3) The levels of white blood cell counts in EPS were no significantly different between the patients of damp-heat syndrome and dificiency syndrome, further discussion is needed to validate the microcosmic diagnosis index for damp-heat syndrome of CP with the level of white blood cell counts. 4)There was significantly different between the patients of damp-heat syndrome and dificiency syndrome in EPS- SPL.
