Objective: Discuss the transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) on inhibitory effect in cell growth of Burkitt lymphoma and the effect of the expression of c-myc gene and proteins.Materials and Methods: The experiment referred to Jiyoye Burkitt lymphoma cell line. The experiment group added 5 ng/mL TGF-β1. The control group referred to Jiyoye Burkitt lymphoma cell line only, and no TGF-β1. All group cells lines were respectively cultured for 24, 48, and 72h. The cell survival rate was detected by using MTT assay in all groups. The changes of c-myc mRNA in all groups were detected by using RT-PCR techniques, and the c-myc protein expression in all groups were detected by Western blotting techniques. Results: MTT assay showed that the Jiyoye cell survival rate, which were treated by using different concentrations of TGF-β1 for 24, 48, and 72h, was gradually decreased with the concentration raised and the time elongated. The consequence showed that the cell survival rates of 5 ng/mL TGF-β1 treated experiment group after 24, 48, and 72h respectively were (80.5 + 3.14)%, (70.5±3.77)%, and (56.4±33.6)%, it was significantly decreased compared with the control group (P<0.05, P<0.01). The survival rate of TGF-β1 treated Jiyoye cell was decreased along with the time elongated. The survival rate of 72h was significantly decreased compared...
